Kerstin Hesselgren (1872-1962) gained recognition for her expertise in social policy and work on women´s rights, as a pioneer of the women´s movement, and for her commitment to the cause of international peace. The Olof Palme Chair was established in honour of Olof Palme (1927-1986), Sweden´s Prime Minister from 1969-1976 and 1982-1986.
